Aundra LaFayette is known to all that have ever met her, and sought by those whom have had her soup. She is The Soup Lady, and there is no substitute for what she brings to the table. Around any of the Nashville markets, and the Richland Park Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings, The Soup Lady is there with her joyous presence and loving heart, sharing her soup. We have all had soup before, but not the kind of soup with this Soul. This soup is something different, something special, and you can almost taste it before you even take a bite.
Aundra spent most of her life in the dance world, dancing, choreographing, and teaching. She was ready to share something different with the community when she started The LaFayette Soup Company. While teaching dance at a therapeutic boarding school in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Aundra would eat soups and stews at The Red Lion Inn. When she came back to Nashville, she could not find soup that was as good as it should be. She decided that she should be the one to bring nourishing soups to her community. It is her way of giving back by helping people to eat healthier and make better choices. She is sharing a way to get all of the good in one big bowl.
The Soup Lady is particular about her ingredients, only using the most fresh, flavorful, local ingredients. She favors the Middle Tennessee Delvin Farms, Green Door Gourmet, and Pond Creek Gardens for herbs and vegetables. All of these seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs are grown without chemicals. Wedge Oak Farm, Southern Ridge, and Tavalin Tails are her go to source for free range, hormone and antibiotic free local meats and poultry. This local sourcing makes many soups seasonal, and that being said, you will never find the exact same soup twice at The Lafayette Soup Company. Every soup is its own unique creation, a choreographed expression of its colors, flavors, and nourishing ingredients that become the latest performance from Aundra to dance in your mouth.
The Soup Lady is in love with life, health, and the Richland Park Farmer's Market. She has never met a stranger. You will see right away how joyous it makes Aundra to get to know the stories and lives of the market shoppers. She loves to share these creations, from the flavors of soup you'll love, to the detox soup that helps make your healthy choices easier, with the community every Saturday. Come see Aundra at The Richland Park Farmer's Market every Saturday Morning from May through December, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
