From East Nashville to Richland: Vendor FAQ

Richland is highly competitive. Each year, fewer than 5 spots open up in our regular season (April–December) — vendor turnover is very low. Meanwhile, we receive over 300 applications a year, plus more than 3 emails a week and 3–5 in-person questions a week at the info booth, all asking how to get in. With that much demand chasing so few spots, we can afford to be selective about who fills an opening.

Our priority system: East Nashville first. To help us choose from such a large pool, we give priority to active vendors at the East Nashville Farmers Market (ENFM) when a Richland spot opens up. This lets us get to know a vendor and confirm they're a good fit before inviting them to Richland.

Being an active ENFM vendor gives you an edge over applicants who apply to Richland directly — but it's not a guarantee. It simply puts you on the priority list to be considered when we need a vendor in your product category.

Note: Richland Park Farmers Market is an agricultural and food-based market. If your product doesn't fall into one of those categories, we won't be able to accept you — regardless of your status at East Nashville.

The Path to Richland, in Three Steps

  1. Qualify to become a vendor at Richland (see requirements below).

  2. Stay active at East Nashville — this is what puts you on the priority list.

  3. Wait to be invited. ENFM and RPFM management communicate regularly, so we already know who's interested in a Richland spot. When one opens up, we reach out to the ENFM Market Manager to ask who'd be a good fit. You don't need to apply or follow up with us — being active at ENFM keeps you on our radar, and we'll reach out when the time comes.

How to Qualify

  1. Right product category. Your goods must fall into a category we're actively prioritizing — agricultural or food-based products.

  2. Proven sales. You should show a solid, established customer base — specifically, average weekly sales at ENFM of $500+ across 13 consecutive market dates (3 months).

  3. Good community fit. We look for vendors who work well with market management and other vendors, follow our guidelines, and understand that their presence on-site affects the market as a whole.

  4. Active presence at East Nashville. Attending a minimum of 2 market dates per month at ENFM.

The fine print: Meeting these requirements does not guarantee a spot at Richland. Being an ENFM vendor puts you in consideration, but final selection is always at our discretion — we prioritize vendors who are reliable, communicative, cooperative, and community-minded.

Ongoing Commitment at East Nashville After Joining Richland

Acceptance into Richland doesn't end your commitment to East Nashville — it comes with one.

Once accepted, vendors are expected to maintain an active presence at East Nashville for the equivalent of two full-time seasons: 74 markets total. This clock starts once you're scheduled for consistent market dates at RPFM — either twice a month or weekly.

Your required attendance at East Nashville is tied to your schedule at Richland, on a 2:1 basis:

  • Part-time at Richland requires attending East Nashville at least 1 date per month.

  • Full-time at Richland requires attending East Nashville at least 2 dates per month.

This commitment is maintained month by month. Dates attended at East Nashville cannot be saved or banked to cover a future month.

We see you. We know you want in — just like everyone else who applies. Stay active at East Nashville, and if a spot opens up at Richland that's right for you, we'll reach out.
